Thomas Schreck age 65 of Sayreville passed away peacefully on Sunday September 7, 2014 at his home with his loving family at his side. Born in Brooklyn, New York he has resided in Sayreville for the past 61 years. Before his retirement he was employed as a power engineer for Bell Atlantic and ATT where he worked for 40 years and was a member of the Association of BellTel Retirees. Mr. Schreck was a member of Sayreville Engine Company #1 where he served as a former captain and a member of the Exempt Firemen’s Association. Thomas was a communicant of St Stanislaus Kostka R. C. Church in Sayreville. He enjoyed traveling, golfing and watching the Atlanta Braves. Most of all he enjoyed playing with his beautiful grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his parents Frank & Dorothy Barnes Schreck. Surviving is his wife of 44 years Eileen Blaszka Schreck, his sons and their wives Deron & Kristen of Orland Park, Illinois and Kurt & Angela of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, his grandchildren Isabella, William, Avery and Houston, his siblings and their spouses Richard & Ellen Schreck and Andrew & Debbie Schreck of Parlin, Theresa Schreck of Edison and Mary Schreck of Jacksonville. Also surviving are his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Kathy & Vincent Farina of Sayreville and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnephews, grand nieces, friends and neighbors.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 10:30am from the Maliszewski Memorial Home 121 Main Street Sayreville followed by an 11am mass at Saint Stanislaus Kostka R. C. Church in Sayreville with private cremation to follow.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Tuesday from 6pm to 9pm. Members of the Sayreville Fire Department will hold services Tuesday 7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations are requested to be made to Sayreville Engine Company #1, Mac Arthur Avenue, Sayreville, N.J. 08872.
