Giovanna “Jennie” Patruno age 79 of the Parlin section of Sayreville passed away Saturday September 13, 2014 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Born in Vittoria, Ragusa Sicily she immigrated to lower Manhattan and then resided in Brooklyn, New York before moving to Parlin in 1998. Before her retirement in 1998 she was employed as an administrative assistant for AT & T in Manhattan for 20 years. Mrs. Patruno was a communicant of Saint Bernadette’s R. C. Church in Parlin where she was a former lector a member of the St Bernadette Seniors, Catholic Daughters of America and Matawan Italian American Club.

She is predeceased by her husband Francesco “Frank” Patruno in 2012. Surviving are her children and their spouses Peter & Teresa Patruno of South Amboy, Maria & Mario Pirrello of Hackettstown, and Carl & Anna Patruno of Howard Beach, N.Y. her grandchildren Christopher, Jonathan and Tina Marie and her brother Joseph Gulino.

A funeral mass will be offered Wednesday 11am at Sacred Heart R. C. Church in South Amboy with entombment to follow at Franklin Memorial Park Mausoleum, Franklin. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations in Jennie’s name be made to a charity of your choice.
