Obituary for Stanley Olsiewski

Stanley Olsiewski, age 94 of Old Bridge passed away peacefully on Monday October 6, 2014. Born in Sayreville, he was a long time resident of Old Bridge. He was well known for his cedar fence business for many years. An avid outdoorsman, Stan and his wife Jean, enjoyed traveling through all the US states and Canada.

Stan joined the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in 1936 and worked on forestry projects in Colorado, Montana and Utah. He was a veteran of the US Army during World War II, serving in the 723rd Railway Operating Battalion as a fireman and conductor, stationed in Germany and France.

Stanley was predeceased by his wife, Jean (Smolinski) Olsiewski; his daughter Joyce Addonizio; sister Florence Hickman, and brothers John and Frank. He is survived by his granddaughter Valerie Addonizio; stepson Lawrence Siemiaszko, stepdaughter MaryAnne Buschhorn, sister Jessie Hydrusko and brother Walter Mesh; grandchildren Cheryl, Gary, Susan, Diane and Kenneth; great-grandson Noah; and his friend and caregiver Jane Schroeder.

Funeral services will be held 11am Saturday at the Maliszewski Memorial Home, 121 Main St., Sayreville with burial to follow at St Stanislaus Cemetery, Sayreville.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Saturday from 9am to 11am.
