I moved to the house that the Costello's owned when I was 3 years old and lived there until I graduated from college. I have many fond memories of Gloria (and her mom, husband and Karen) all of us sitting on the stoop way into the evening with the neighbors, My favorite memory was when I was 15 I wanted to go out on a double date. The rule had been, no dating until you are 16, I begged my mom and she finally relented that I could go to the movies with a boy I had known my whole life. I got up to go get a snack and saw Mr. and Mrs. Costello, sitting several rows behind us. They just nodded and smiled as I walked by. To this day I tell that story-unbelievable that my mom would ask them to go to the movie to spy on me, and more unbelievable that they did.
Rest in peace. Karen, may the memories of your mom keep you smiling.
Love, Lori
