Barbara Rae Tompkins, age 77 of Old Bridge passed away Thursday February 19th 2015 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy after a long battle with diabetes. Born in Brooklyn she had resided in Old Bridge for the past 55 years. Barbara was an avid fan of the roller derby and she enjoyed singing and dancing.

She is predeceased by her sons Claude George and Steven Victor. Surviving are her children Janine Rose Velasquez, Bonnie Lee Tompkins and Roger Tompkins, all of Old Bridge, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are private under the direction of the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Barbara’s name to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
