Stella P. Koenig, age 92, passed away Monday June 15, 2015 at Life Care Rehab Center, Ocala, Florida. Born in South River she was a lifelong borough resident. Before her retirement, she was employed as a floor worker for Mako Sportswear in South River for 45 years and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Stella was a communicant of Saint Mary of Ostrabrama R. C. Church in South River where she was a member of the Rosary Society.
She is predeceased by her husband’s William Menzler and William Koenig, her parents Alexander and Mary Pianka and her siblings Josephine Lopa, Stanley Pianka, John Pianka, and Fran Scupp. Surviving are her sisters Theresa Adams of Florida, Helen Zaczek of North Brunswick and Edmund Pianka of Metuchen and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday 8:30am from the Maliszewski Funeral Home 218 Whitehead Avenue South River followed by a 9am mass at Saint Mary of Ostrabrama R. C. Church in South River with burial to follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Friday from 2pm to 5pm. Members of Saint Mary’s Rosary Society will hold services Friday 3pm at the funeral home. Letters of condolence may be sent to the family at www.maliszewskifuneralhome.com
