Milltown
Iwan “John” Jakimtschuk age 92 of Milltown passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 23, 2015 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Ukraine he immigrated to the United States in 1950 settling in Milltown in 1954. Before his retirement in 1989 he was employed as a construction supervisor for Harry Rieder Construction in Edison where he worked for 30 years. Mr. Jakimtshuk received a degree in Essentials of Architectural Drafting from Chicago Technical college in 1970. John was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church in South River.

He is predeceased by son Walter Jakimtschuk in 1983 and his siblings Wasily, Tatyana, Sophia and Anna. Surviving are his wife of 70 years Maria Domanow Jakimtschuk, his grandson Jeffrey Jakimtschuk and his wife Misty of West Palm Beach, Florida, and his great grandchildren Emma and Leo.

Funeral services will be held Saturday 9:30am from the Maliszewski Funeral Home 218 Whitehead Avenue South River followed by a 10 am service at Saints Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church In South River with burial to follow at Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery, South River.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Friday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. Panahida services with choir will be held Friday 7pm at the funeral home. Letters of condolence, directions and completed arrangements may be found at www.maliszewskifuneralhome.com
