Daniel “Danny” Carter age 54 of Sayreville passed away Friday October 9, 2015 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy as a result of being struck by an automobile while crossing Main Street in Sayreville. Born in New Brunswick he has resided in Sayreville all of his life. Danny was employed by the Borough of Sayreville Police Department as an automobile mechanic for the past 35 years. He was a member of Sayreville Engine Company Number 1 and Exempt Fireman’s Association. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Old Bridge Sons of American Legion.

He is predeceased by his parents Joseph T. and Dorothy Kiernan Carter Jr., and his brother Gary Carter. Surviving are his companion of 9 years Irene Keaveney, his brother Joseph T. Carter III and his wife Bonnie of Davenport, Florida, his sister in law Laura Carter of Newbern, N.C., and his nephews and nieces Jeffrey, Jason, Bethany, Bryan and Brandon as well as a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 10:30am at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin with burial to follow at New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Tuesday from 5pm to 9pm. Members of Sayreville Engine Company Number 1 and Exempt Fireman’s Association as well as Sayreville Police and Old Bridge Sons of American Legion will hold services Tuesday at the funeral home.
