John J Fedor
John J. Fedor, age 95 of Sayreville passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Old Bridge. Born in Perth Amboy he had resided in Sayreville for the past 47 years. Before his retirement John was employed as a serviceman for Elizabethtown Gas for 35 years. He was a WWII Navy Veteran involved in multiple invasions including North Africa, France, Cherbourg, London and Le Havre, pulling into Iceland for repairs then transferring to the Pacific Theatre of Action invading Manila in Luzon and New Guinea. He received many ribbons for American Theatre, Europe, African and Asiatic invasions plus metals for victory and good conduct. John was a proud newspaper boy for The Star Ledger where he won a trip to Manhattan to see Bing Crosby at the Paramount. He was also a former tap dancer and prize fighter.
He is predeceased by his sisters Irene Molnar and Anna Buck. Surviving are his loving wife of 70 years, the former Dorothy Leonard, his children Russell and his wife JoAnn of Sayreville and Claudia Fedor Horak of PA, his granddaughters Karina and Clarissa, many nephews and a niece.
Funeral services will be held Monday 10am at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with entombment to follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens in Woodbridge.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 2pm to 5pm.
