Robert J. Lanzano Sr. age 83 of the Parlin section of Sayreville passed away Friday June 10, 2016 at Regency Park Nursing Center, Hazlet with his loving and devoted son at his side. Born in Bayonne he resided in Brooklyn, N.Y. before moving to Parlin 20 years ago. Before his retirement 25 years ago he was employed by New York City Transit Authority as a mechanic and prior to that for Butler Maintenance in New York City also as a mechanic. Mr. Lanzano was a member of the Transit Workers Union and Sacred Heart R. C. Church in South Amboy. Robert proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He is predeceased by his wife Rita A. Livoti Lanzano in 2014 and his siblings James, Thomas, Marion and Edward. Surviving is his son Robert Lanzano Jr. with whom he lived, his brother John Lanzano of Long Island, N.Y. and many nieces and nephew.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday 10:30am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin followed by a 11am mass at Sacred Heart R. C. Church in South Amboy with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Iselin.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Sunday from 7pm to 9pm and Monday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm.
