Obituary for Edward R Batko
Sayreville
Edward R. Batko, age 86 of Sayreville, passed away Friday September 30, 2016 at his home. Born in New Brunswick, he was a lifelong resident of Sayreville. Edward was a proud pipe fitter for PSE&G, retiring after 35 years of service with the company. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War Conflict where he was an Aviation Ordanceman Third Class and a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church in Sayreville.
He is predeceased by his parents Teofil and Sophia Batko and his wife Edna Zalewski Batko.
Surviving are his sons David and his wife Kathleen of Bradley Beach, Daniel and his wife Kathy of Monroe Twp, his grandchildren Dylan and Tayler Batko, and a host of other loving family members and cherished lifelong friends.
Funeral services will be Monday 10:30am from the Maliszewski Memorial Home 121 Main St. with a 11am mass to follow at St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church in Sayreville. Burial will take place at St. Stan’s Cemetery in Sayreville.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 2pm to 5pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edward’s name to VNA of Central New Jersey 176 Riverview Ave. Red Bank NJ 07701 or The St. Stan’s School Endowment Fund 225 Mac Arthur Ave. Sayreville, NJ 08872.
